Summer Video Day Camp - Registration Information
Every year kids and parents give us positive feedback about the Summer Video Day Camp. Kids of all abilities, no matter which school they come from, feel welcome. And on the last day during the special screening in the film studio, kids are really proud to show off the films they created during the week (keep your eye out for the special effects!). Below are some more reasons why kids and parents think the Summer Video Camp at Backstreet Studios is fantastic!

What’s In It for Kids?
What’s In It for Parents?
- Learning how to make movies and videos – everything from script to screen. For grade 7's, this can really help with video assignments in grade 8.
- Checking out the high school with hardly anyone else around. Even if you end up going to another high school, at least you gain some familiarity with a bigger school building.
- Hands-on fun: brainstorming, story boarding, casting, filming and editing. Even making a music video!
- Feeling welcome and included because there’s as much to do behind the camera as there is in front of it.
What’s In It for Parents?
- A week of almost-a-school schedule to help get everyone back on track for the start of the school!
- Knowing that your kids are having fun learning about video and movie making
- Giving your new grade 8 student a sneak peak at what it’s like to go to high school to ease their jitters
- Supporting the school’s film department – the camp is a fundraiser to buy new equipment
- Getting a tax receipt – the camp can be used as a daycare expense if you claim daycare costs on your income taxes
- Getting to see all the crazy, wonderful films that the kids create during a screening on the last day
